With this project i wanted to show the secret shadows and reflections which seep through every day nature and how easily missed they can be. I feel shadows and reflections ad a fantasy and mystical feel to every day landscapes.
When taking this photo i noticed the many leading lines, not only from the trees but from the shadows too. Creating like a sort of ladder effect. The tree's are symmetrically aligned which makes the image visually pleasing to look at as you eyes flow deeper into the image.
When taking this photo i wanted to have a harsh difference between bright colours and dark shadows. I like how some of the trees are silhouetted and some are detailed, as if some are representations of people not being able to show themselves and step out of the darkness and into the light.
Even though this reflection isn't that clear, I like that you have to look really closely to see it isn't all one big tree. It adds a full frame of branches around the image, framing the background with the foreground. This image and its reflections also adds a type of depth, showing the vast area of water.
I feel like this image has a kind of magical feel, at first glance it reminds me of a kind of neverland. What i most enjoy about this image is that the reflection shows the blue sky giving the water a bright blue hue, as if its a portal to another world if you touched it.
