Working on a Level 6 graduate shoot was a really useful experience. I was crewed as a lighting assistant and also helped as a runner. This allowed me to learn more about lighting and the gels used to create different effects. We needed to create a moonlight effect within the house, so we blacked out one window with tinfoil and a black flag and then filled another window with blue gels to create a white/blue light through one side of the room. I learnt how much

natural light can have an effect on set too, as the sun moved the shadows moved and made the blue light move across the room. So for continuity issues we had to attach the black flag on a ladder and moved it around and blocked out the sunlight. After this experience as a lighting assistant, it got me more interested in working with lights for my future projects and focus on light more.

The level 6's were really professional and great to work with, they instantly made me feel a part of the crew and helped me out with any questions I had. I got to see how a different genre on film was shot and took inspiration from their set design and applied it to my new fiction film. Thanks to Kayleigh and the rest of the crew from the shoot 'Roll'. Excited to see final film!
